Hi,

Has anyone encountered issues with running Adagio 8.1F on Windows 10, where when I run my week reports and close the Day,the subjected file does not update from the previous weeks. My OEARIBCH and OEGLBTCH files are updated and timestampped to match the time I close the day out, but for some reason that one File(SRSHIP) does not update. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The file that is updated is called OESHIPTR not SRSHIPTX. I'm assuming you are using OrderEntry 8.1F and SalesAnalysis 9.1A.

Hi Steve Thanks for the response,
I am indeed using 8.1F and also we are using 8.1F Sales Analysis, the file that we have been sending to our main office has always been the SRSHIPTX file. I did search in the network folder for the OESHIPTR file and saw that this was time stamped the same time as the OEARIBCH and OEGLBTCH which coincide with when i ran the reports last week. Are you suggesting that I should use the OESHIPTR instead?

PS: Does upgrading to sales Analysis 9.1A change the file name?

Hello:

Steve's answer is correct. I just scanned through a number of datasets from clients. They all have OESHIPTX files but only a few have SRSHIPTX files. And in those that do, the filesize is 0 bytes and the last date is a number of years ago.

Hi All:

Softrak needs to explain what SRSHIPTX is. Not all of my Sales Analysis clients have this file but those that do the file is 0 bytes (empty). I don't see any discernable pattern to when this file was created or why some client have it and others don't. Likely there was some intended purpose at one time that has never been executed.

In older versions of Adagio OrderEntry, it was required to print and purge the invoice and credit note audit lists in order to allow retrieval of transactions into SalesAnalysis. The OE invoice audit list file is OESHIPTR, and that temporary work file for SalesAnalysis retrieval is SRSHIPTX.

A number of years ago, I think around version 8.1D, the process changed so that it is no longer required to print and purge the audit lists in order to allow data retrieval. A different procedure occurs for SalesAnalysis to do the retrieval (data file OESSISY.dat, I believe), so that SRSHIPTX file is no longer used.

Clients who used OrderEntry and SalesAnalysis in older versions, even going back to DOS days, will have a SRSHIPTX file. Those that started using Adagio after this changeover will not.

If you ever want to know the purpose of a data file, you can use the DataDictionaryExporter.exe utility to export an Adagio Dictionary contents to Excel. Doing this for the SalesAnalysis dictionary will reveal that SRSHIPTX is titled 'S/R Invoice Audit List'.
