We are not aware of any problems in this area. Especially since you indicated that other workstations have no problem. I wouldn't expect import items to cause a problem such as this from a single workstation.
Do your items have Alerts or other pop-up messages? Is it possible that some message is active that requires to click OK, and that message is hidden, making it appear that the app is frozen? You could try Alt-tabbing away from IC and then back again.
Do you have other applications that integrate with IC, such as Order Entry or Invoices or Sales Analysis? If you edit or view an item from one of these places, does the same behaviour occur?
You could also try running IC on the sample data in \softrak\icwin\samdata from your PC, to see if the same problem occurs, to isolate whether what you are experiencing is localized to your live company data.
