I have just tried to create a new set of data in Ledger 9.0 (with the March 7 SP installed)

I can get through the Company Settings Screen but if I go to create a Department it is unable to find the Retained Earnings account that I set in the Company Profile.

If I try to create the account it tells me the department does not exist.

Hello Lyndon,

When the data was created, the Company Profile option, Report missing department errors, was on by default. If you did not disable this option, you get into this loop. You can’t disable the option now because the Company Profile will not allow you to save changes if the Retained Earnings does not exist.

To get around the message, create a retained earnings account without a Department.

That will allow you to create the new Department and then the new Account.
