When trying to open financial statements, I receive 'unable to load financial reporter'. This happens with both companies I have in Adagio. Data Integrity Check comes back fine and a reboot results in zero success.

Thanks.

Hi Tam,

What version of the Adagio Financial Reporter are you using? With Ledger or FX?

The likely culprit is a corrupted data file that is only used by the Financial Reporter (such as a Statement Group list or Department Range list) and this is not checked by the Data Integrity Check process. Current versions of the Financial Reporter attempt to detect and reset corrupted files, though may not always do so.

Should this continue to be a problem with the current release of Adagio, you may need to remove the problem file from the data directory and let the Financial Reporter recreate it. This would probably best be done with your Adagio consultant.

I have just found that Microsoft Security Essentials under WIndows 7 is detecting the file c:\softrak\ledger\LedgerFinRep.exe as a Trojan horse and quarantining it. This then causes the error message you see. If you look into your softrak\ledger\ folder, there will be no LedgerFinRep program.

Excluding the c:\softrak folder from MSSE's realtime scans and reinstalling GL helped on one system. Restoring the quarantined LedgerFinRep.exe file and adding an exclusion for that particular Trojan Horse fixed it on another.

Thanks to you both, your responses are greatly appreciated.

Version: GL 9.2A

The ledger file was not depicted as being problematic in my security software. I will thus contact my consultant.

I am having the same problem today. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it when back in the office first thing in the morning.

This problem is not exclusive to MS Security Essentials. I have two clients running other AV software that also have the problem.

Softrak:
This could present a lot of work to fix. I already have 4 calls in the last 2 hours. Is there a way to get it off the list like when you're blacklisted?

Hi, Dan,

Please provide the names and versions of the other AV software that is causing an issue.

Someone else has reported they are using Microsoft Defender and that it reported a false positive on LedgerFinRep.exe also.

I have 2 clients using Microsoft security essentials with same problem. It is detecting the ledgerfinrep.exe as a Trojan.

More information for assistance from security essentials.

Trojan spy\win32: nivdort.cw

Are we sure this is not a valid Trojan?

From Microsoft's site:
TrojanSpy:Win32/Nivdort.CW
Alert level: Severe
Also detected as: Trojan.Win32.Agent.ihpl (Kaspersky), Trojan-FHOH!885352259A4D (McAfee), Troj/Nivdort-BV (Sophos), TROJ_BAYROB.SM4 (Trend Micro),

Avast is also picking it up.

We have the corporate version of MS "System Centre Endpoint Protection" and of course it removes it too.
