I'm trying to set up a Balance Sheet for our company and I am using the following date string to try and get the fiscal period ending date:

=DATESTRING(ADGETF("gldates.END",FPRIOR(0)),"As of %B %d, %Y")

I have gone into the reporter under the Date of July 31/07 (the date I am working on) but the date that is generated by the above string is June 30/07. I have checked all my fiscal periods in the company profile and they are all correct. I opened an older balance sheet that used this code and the date comes up correct in that statement. So I then tried to copy and paste from one to the other an although it is the exact same code, one comes up June and the other July????? Please help!

Change the Fiscal Period selector in the Financial Statement to see how the date on your Statement changes. I suspect that your older balance sheet has Fiscal Period 7 selected whereas your new one is using Fiscal Period 6.

The Financial Reporter does not use the date that you used when signing into the General Ledger.

Hello Ally,

What's the fiscal period in the drop-down? Does changing the period in the drop down change the date correctly? If you press F9 (recalc) does the date change?

I'm such a twit! I changed the fiscal period on the drop down and my sheet changed accordingly. I didn't even realize it was there! I guess I'm too used to the old dos statements, lol. Thanks for the speedy replies!

Hi Ally,

I'm glad to hear it's working properly for you.

If you'd like a statement to automatically recalculate when it's first opened, place ".AutoUpdate" in Cell A2.

Thanks for using Adagio!
