We have just gone through our yearly inventory count, and would like to know if the physical inventory worksheet can be printed using the following TWO conditions.
1)Must have quantity equal to NOT zero, ie can be positive or negative number, but not a zero AND
2)Must have no activity during the past 12 months.

These two conditions must both be present, for an item not to be listed on the worksheet. If these two conditions could be enacted, it would save pages and pages of paper.

Possible??

Thank you, as always, for your help!

Barb:

You must print the worksheet for the whole rage you are working on, becasue the file you will use to enter adjustments is generated at the same time.

You can, however, print the Physical Inventory worksheet to Excel. Then you can sort by quantity on hand and delete the rows that do not apply before using up a tree or two.

If you discover, while counting, an item for which the computer shows zero on hand, the staff can write it in and it will still be in the list to be adjusted.

Printing to Excel and sorting would not work, as I need to make sure BOTH conditions are met, for the item to be excluded. In other words, item would have no history for the previous fiscal year, and also item would be at zero. Sorry not to be clear the first time!

The short answer is "no."

Some options include:

- Set the items with no activity to "inactive" and print the worksheet for "Active items only."

- Create dummy account set or location, move the items to it and do only print for that acount set or location.

Neither is very intuitive nor automatic, however.

Hi Barb,

There are no date filters for activity that can be applied as a filter to the Physical Inventory worksheet report. The closest you can get to a zero qty filter is the item selection 'Items active at location', meaning the item is allowed at the location.

There is a checkbox option called 'Suppress Inactive items' which looks at the 'Active Item' setting on each item and if the item is not active, it will not appear on the report. So what you could do is set all the items that meet your criteria of 0 qty and inactive for a year without the Active status. If there are a lot of items like this, you can import this setting from an Excel file (created from the SmartFinder Excel import or a GridView view).
