Hello Tony,

You haven’t given us the version of the Ledger. It must be Ledger 9.3B (23.02.01) or later for current versions of Windows.

Tony

Recently Micrsoft has been forcing all users to upgrade to the latest version. Unfortunately, this breaks Crystal Reports in older versions of Adagio. Likely the one workstation with the printing problem has had the latest Microsoft update installed on it.

Hi Tony:

As Support indicates, you will need Ledger 9.3B (dated either 23-02-13 or 23-05-18) to be compatible with the updated version of Windows. Be aware that other Adagio modules have the same printing problem with this new Windows version. They will also need versions of those modules released in 2023 in order to solve the problem. If your client is on the annual Upgrades plan, they can download and install the latest versions. If not, they will need to purchase upgrades to gain access to the latest versions.

Hi Tony,
There is a temporary fix that can be done to give you some time to install the latest Adagio upgrades.
(The good news is that the printing problem should not cause any Adagio Data corruption)

1. Pause the Windows Updates on all Windows 10 & 11 computers that are running Adagio.
(Yes, even the ones without the problem, as they could be updated & "broken' by the Windows updates, at any time)
- Recommend pausing the Windows updates using the Maximum time of 35 days.
(After 35 days MS does not allow Pause to be re-enabled until after the current Windows updates have been installed. Which will potentially disrupt Adagio printing again)

2. On the Computers with the Adagio printing problem, do the above and then "Uninstall the latest "Operating System' updates.
(Don't uninstall the Windows Security updates as they are not the cause of this problem & you need these)

3. You may be able to successfully uninstall the Windows updates using the Windows GUI, or it may need to be done using the WMIC & WUSA Commands from the DOS/CMD prompt.
(Suggest uninstalling just the latest, most current Windows Updates one at a time, after doing each one, restart the Computer and test Adagio printing until it works. If it prints, the GUI based Uninstall has succeeded. If not, you will need use the CMD prompt commands to list & uninstall the problem updates.

4. This should enable printing temporarily, giving you printing functionality until you have time to install the Adagio updates to permanently resolve the printing problem caused by the Windows 10 & 11 updates.

Hope this helps, business workflow disruption has significant associated costs and is ideally avoided pro-actively. Best of luck!

If you, or your Adagio Consultant have any questions on the above, or require further information, please feel free to contact me.

Hello Garry,

Yes, the same advice applies. Ledger 9.3B (23.02.01) or later must be installed for current versions of Windows.
