I did some testing by creating a folder for test data on the local drive. I opened Order Entry and Inventory using two different user names. When trying to post a receipt I am getting the message "unable to access record. This record is in use in Window "Adagio Inventory". Any thoughts as to what may be causing this?

Hello,

Are you posting receipts in Purchase Orders for Adagio, Adagio Inventory, ACCPAC Plus Inventory Control or DOS Inventory Receipts when this occurs.

"unable to access record. This record is in use in Window "Adagio Inventory"
This message indicates a conflict with Inventory rather than Order Entry.

Have you completely turned off Opportunistic Locking?
Use \Softrak\System\chksys.exe to verify this.
I have seen exactly this error when opportunistic locking was on.

Before responding to you earlier I had checked in sample data by opening a detail on an order and a detail on a receipt to the same item at the same time. I also tested using two different user names. I can post the order when the receipt for that item is open, and I can post the receipt when the order for that item is open.

Try getting everyone out of the programs, then use Windows Explorer to browse to the data directory. Find the file EZSEMTAB.xxx (where xxx is your data extension) and delete or rename this file. It's purpose is to keep track of which user is performing which function, and if someone's workstation had a system failure, it may not have been cleaned up successfully. Opening any Adagio program will recreate this file for you.
