We have reports of Adagio freezing on Windows 10 lately. I may have been a Windows upgrade or change of Antivirus.
One of the computers having this issue is a new Windows 10, so we don't know if the problem started with an upgrade. Is anybody else having this issue?

"Freezing" is a little vague. What does Task Manager show? What modules? What operation? What makes you think Windows 10 is to blame?

I am inclined to think it is the antivirus but we got more than one report of Adagio no Responding (any module) and I was thinking it might be a Windows upgrade. One of the users just migrated from Windows7 to Windows 10 but also started using a new Antivirus.

Just clicking on Adagio after it has been inactive for a few minutes makes it stop working. I did change the network card not to go to sleep also.

I didn't see anything unusual on the Task Manager.

Having the network card go to sleep while an Adagio module is open will be fatal to the Adagio module.

I have two reports (at least) of this happening, both right after they switched to Win10.

In one case they re-installed Win7 and the problem went away immediately (admittedly a workaround but what else could they do).

This is so over my head that I don't know where to start.

I'm happy to hear it's not just my clients who are experiencing this.

I wanted to share a situation we just experienced that relates to this post and the GPO one: https://portal.softrak.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/57661#Post57661:

We have a site with two Windows 10 workstations, multiple Windows 7 workstations and Adagio on a Server 2016. Adagio on one of the two Windows 10 workstation has been consistently freezing (not responding, no error messages). It happened every day, randomly (not during a specific Adagio step) or without fail if left open (not used) for more than 2 hours.

We checked:
-User rights- read/write
-User profile - created a new profile, tried profile on other computer
-Anti-virus - disabled
-Network cable - tried different cables, switch plug and even tried wireless
-Hard disk sleep settings on computer - changed to Never
-Set GPO settings per post linked above

None of these provided any results. The only thing that worked for this workstation was to remove it completely from the GPO and map the Adagio drive manually on the workstation. At this time, I don't know why the GTO caused this and only on this workstation.

Hi Vickie,

Did you try deleting the user from both the Server and their local workstation and recreating the user?

We did.We even created a brand new user.

And two corrections:
-it's not the workstation that has to be excluded from the GPO but the user
-the second Win10 user has now said that Adagio does freeze on occasion. We will remove her from the GPO as well.
