Hi All,

I just installed Adagio GL, AP, AR, IC, OE, GV, MC latest versions. All modules are functioning properly except Multicurrency. W/S installation is displaying the following error:

The Report Tables drive for this w/s is set to [X:]. However that drive does not contain current report tables for Adagio multicurrency.

Please check the w/s mappings and if necessary reinstall Multicurrency.
Pressing OK closes installation. Tried to reinstall Multicurrency on the network drive - did not fix the problem.

Please help me with this issue. Thank you
Victor

Hello Victor B.,

Adagio is looking for a subdirectory x:\QRASP that contains tables necessary for the management reports in Adagio. For all workstations, the drive "x:" should be the same. \softrak\system\CHKSYS.EXE makes sure that all the report tables are properly installed.

I notice that your chksys report does not say anything about multi-currency. Try re-installing it making sure that you setthe install directory and report directory correctly.

I reinstalled MC on the server one more time (install directory and report directory were set to X:\
Still can not able to install w/s multicurrency (same error).
What else could be wrong?

Did you install directly on the server, or from the workstation to the server?
In Chksys, try viewing the session details.
There may be a mismatch between files under \softrak\system\qrasp and the main \Qrasp directory.

Hi Kate,
I installed from w/s to the server.
Chksys showes only report I posted May 23.
The X:\QRASP - 207 files (all ACCPAC Plus files + files added by Adagio) , 3.83 MB; X:\SOFTRAK\SYSTEM\QRASP - 46 files, 8 folders (one for each module installed), 367 KB (read only).
Which files should I compare? I think you closest to the True than anyone else including Softrak.
Thank you
Victor

Hi Victor,

As you had posted earlier, CHKSYS determined that the MC tables were current:
X:\qrasp\QRTMCW80.qrw
Date: [08/12/2003] OK.

Indeed there is only one report table and the correct file date is 8/12/2003. The file checking Kate alluded to was for the aforementioned file, and this identical comparison is how CHKSYS knows that the correct tables exist - comparing to that in the X:\softrak\system\qrasp\mc directory.

I am going under the assumption that all Adagio modules are found in the X:\softrak directory.

With all this being said, it appears you have the correct setup. Because you indicated that all other modules are functioning properly, this means the workstation registry is correctly set, and all Crystal reporting files are on your workstation. The only other thing that the workstation setup would do is create a shortcut on the workstation to the MultiCurrency application - X:\softrak\mcwin\mcwin.exe - and a write to the Windows registry. Perhaps you could try creating this shortcut manually and see if this works? Similar report table checking occurs when launching an application, so you may get the same error that you've found with the workstation setup. Or you might get the 'auto-workstation setup', which would probably give you the same mess. But if not, then try printing/previewing one of the reports - currency code list or something else - and if this works then there won't be a need to perform the MultiCurrency workstation setup.

I was able to run wksetup.exe for MultiCurrency, so I don't suspect a faulty program file.

If all of the above still fails, then I would recommend renaming the X:\softrak\mcwin directory and reinstall the application fresh (rather than installing on top of the existing files).

Hi again,

I did everything you recommended:
Checked - all Adagio modules are in the X:\softrak directory;
Created and used new shortcut to X:\softrak\mcwin\mcwin.exe - did not work;
I renamed X:\softrak\mcwin directory and reinstalled Multicurrency - same error
All Adagio completely non-functional without MC
I think some files on Softrak media are not compatible or corrupted (wrong dates, versions, etc,). I already replaced wrong (?) DICT directory due to 1212 error - incorrect path to dictionary.
What else should I do?
Victor

Hi Andrew,
What are my options to get professional help on this problem? I appreciate community help, but none of recommendations fixed the problem. I can create account and provide acces to server were Adagio installed to Softrak's support person. Please advise.

Hi Victor,

I tried to contact you as well - will wait for an update to your contact info from Andrew.

I did some looking into this issue, and I can make the error message you quoted in the original post appear if I rename or remove the QRTMCW80.QRW from the X:\QRASP directory. I can also make that happen if I change the registry, but that would affect all Adagio and not just the MultiCurrency portion. There also is a reference to the table in the X:\softrak\mcwin\mcwin.ini file, but I get a different error message if I change this.

If I remove the file from X:\QRASP, I get a number of errors when I run the CHKSYS.EXE utility, so I don't believe it's as simple as a missing file. Perhaps there is is something with the file attributes, such as read-only, or network rights?

I would next suggest renaming or moving the QRTMCW80.QRW file to get it out of the way, then copy the same file you see in X:\softrak\system\qrasp\mc and paste it to X:\QRASP, just to see if there is corruption in the file that currently exists in X:\QRASP.

We have determined the problem and now everything is working for Victor.

When MultiCurrency was installed, the file date of QRTMCW80.QRW was the date of the install (May 20, 2006), not the correct date of Aug 12, 2003. Running the CHKSYS utility should have shown this.

However, a much older version of the CHKSYS (year 2002) program existed on the network with the same incorrect May 20, 2006 date - and this means that installing Adagio upgrades was not overwriting and updating the CHKSYS utility. Since Adagio MultiCurrency started shipping in 2003, the CHKSYS Victor had installed wasn't even looking for MC files. But it was looking at Inventory (where the table was mentioned above).

So the problem was that program files got installed with "today's" date rather than the actual date. All the re-installs in the world would not fix this - until an upgrade was released with the program files dated after May 20, 2006...

I guess Doug gets the award for having the best eyes - in correctly noticing that there was no MultiCurrency section within the CHKSYS posted results.
===========
In case anyone wants to know why this happened - a program was installed directly from the server (Crystal Reports for Adagio) rather than from a workstation. In this scenario, the windows system date will override the modification date of files it is installing, and this will throw off the date sensitivity of Adagio when checking for appropriate files, and the ability of Windows to overwrite updated program files.
