Is there a way to change the default options that appear when printing a form. A client wants to print Picking Lists sorted by Location/Item number instead of by Location/Picking Sequence, and they have to change the setting each time.

I tried ticking the box in User Preferences called "Remember report setting" but apparently it doesn't apply to forms.

If there is no way, has this changed in version OE 9.3A?

The forms printing underwent major revision in OrderEntry 9.3A. To answer your specific question, you'll have to check it out (preferably with their data).

The etiquette for being the first responder to a posting on the forum is to either give an answer or ask for more information. Not to say "there were changes and you'll have to check it out yourself".

This is a generic question, not a specific one. Is it possible to change the default settings when printing an OE form? I think it helps to give a real life example, which is why I added specificity.

I did check this out with both version 9.2A and 9.3A before I posted and I couldn't find a way to do it. Which doesn't mean there isn't a way, it means I don't know..

Can someone else please answer yes or no, or ask me for more information if I am not clear?

Hi Steve,

There are 3 settings related to Forms processing under File | User Preferences | General in OrderEntry 9.3A, including "Remember Form Settings". Once the user has made the selections they want, they should be remembered from session to session.

When I brought up F1-Help and searched for "form default settings", the Help read:

The specification option you set on print dialogs for Use customer specification or Use selected specification can be saved and used as the default the next time you print the picking slip, confirmation, invoice or credit note. The option is saved by company, so if you set different options for different datasets, they will be saved accordingly.


The section in the Help was from the User Preferences General tab.

Thank you, that answers my question. Now that I know where to look, I see that those options are also available in OE 9.2A. I never saw them before.
