Hi,

We're currently borrowing on our inventory. In order to do so, our bank requires a monthly report detailing our stock items -item number, description, quantity, cost per unit, total value, as well as the last transaction date for each item. Since our borrowing is based only on items we've had in inventory for less than one year, the date is vital. The item valuation report (from the invoice module) we've sent to our bank is great [u]except it does not include a date. Our Adagio rep created a Gridview report for us to use which includes "last date". Unfortunately the "last date" on the report does not take into consideration any adjustments. Most of our changes to inventory are done by making adjustments, including the monthly physical inventory large update (apparently the import/export feature is considered an adjustment). Therefore the report shows the original date the item was entered instead of when an actual change was made. Since many items now show as over a year old when in fact they've been updated within the course of the past year, we cannot borrow on them.

Can anyone help? Thanks, Karen

Karen:

Normally the banks don't want to finance slow moving inventory items so they want the last date sold, not the last date some adjustment was made to the item.

Are you saying that most sales are recorded as an adjustment? that seems odd, particularly if you are using an Adagio module to post sales. Which Adagio module are you using to post sales?

Most likely the Adagio Consultant who created the GridView for you would be your best choice to get this fixed. Sounds like some effort will be required to understand how to identify the last sale and set that date onto your report.

Thanks Douglas.

I'm reaching out to him - he was out of the office and the bank wanted something today.

There are many dates stored in the item record. Add them to your Grid and decide which one most accurately reflects the information the Bank wants. Then change you GridView to display that date.

I modified the Item Valuation report in GridView to pull the last transaction date from the Transaction file using GETLINKEDVALUE. The transaction file is sorted by item/date (date descending).
