Is there a way to create a filter for IC Items to show which items are currently on sale? We would like to use the criteria, "Sale End Date" "Greater than" "Today". However, "Today" is not an option. We have to select an actual date from the calendar.

We use IC Item Inquiry to quote customers prices all day long, but we can't recognize whether an item is on sale unless we look at the "Sale price", "Sale starts" and "Sale ends" fields every single time we look up an item and determine if those dates are current. This is far too tedious. The only workaround we know is to enter the item on an order in Order Entry, however, this is not practical either.

Is there any way we can identify the current sale items with a filter?

Hi Susan,

What version of Adagio Inventory do you have installed?

With the service pack 2015.02.24 installed - and perhaps earlier versions as well - you can create a filter with "Sale End Date" - "Floating date range" - "After today". The inclusion of After today (and Before today) as floating date range choices is fairly recent across Adagio programs. These choices are at the end of the floating date range list.

You probably will also want to include in your filter a second criteria to check that "Sale Start Date" - "Floating date range" - "Before today" to ensure that Today is within the sale date range, rather than being prior to the entire range.

We are running 8.1E (150224). It worked thanks! We used "Floating date range" "after today" like you suggested. It would be even better if we could do "Floating date range" "today or after today", but this is a great improvement.

Glad that works!

You could also put 2 criteria into your filter to get what you are looking for:

"Sale End Date" - "Floating date range" - "After today" OR
"Sale End Date" - "Floating date range" - "Today"

We went with:

Sale Start Date - Floating date range - Today - OR
Sale Start Date - Floating date range - Before today - AND
Sale End Date - Floating date range - Today - OR
Sale End Date - Floating date range - After today

Now our staff can see SALE items in RED. This is excellent. Thanks!!

This isn't actually working right. It is adding items to this filter with a Sale Start Date of April 1, 2015 and a Sale End Date of May 15, 2015. What am I doing wrong?

Choose:
Code:
Sale Start Date Floating Date Range Before today AND
Sale End Date Floating Date Range After today OR
Sale End Date Floating Date Range Today

and see if that selects the records you expect.

Hi Susan,

I suspect the ANDs and ORs are not overlapping with the required logic.

I believe this one works, using slightly different logic to remove OR out of the process:
Code:
Sale Start Date - Not Equal To - blank AND NOT
Sale Start Date - Floating Date Range - After Today AND NOT
Sale End Date - Floating Date Range - Before Today

This ensures that there is a sale date range entered and is before or equal to today, and that the end date is after or equal to today.

Thanks, it turns out I had to clear all my filters back to standard and start fresh applying them again. It's good now. Sorry for the confusion!

I like Support's Filter better. It's easier to read.
