My client is running on a Novell network and has just upgraded some of the workstations from W98 to XP. The workstation installs went fine but the new workstations are all reporting errors whenever the user attempts to print a report. The error message is: "Critical Error [1] Unknown Error Deleting Dataset". Each of the workstations has administrative rights to their own computer and full access to the Softrak and data folders on the server (I can create, edit and delete files there). Any ideas?

Thanks,
-Phil

There are some issues that can arise when running a Novell client, perhaps this is one of them.

There is a recent note about client service packs and Adagio at Forum mesage about Novell & Adagio. Perhaps that might be relevant.

Hi Phil,

Was this for the same client that had some issues running Adagio version 6.5 on the upgraded WinXP station (that you posted on PlusCommunity)?

In addition to Novell service packs, look for opportunstic locking being disabled on the workstation.

Also check to see if all reports are affected (ie the company profile report is fairly basic; the AR Aged Trial Balance is not). Some reports create a temp work file on the local hard drive and this may also be an issue due to rights or more likely Novell Client32 advanced settings.
