I experienced a 'Stream Write Error' today when trying to post a batch in GL 9.1A (Windows 7 32bit wks; client network environment of 6 users) - the error occurred just before the print prompt that usually pops up after posting a batch as well as the posting journal did not print.
I performed a DIC where it listed multiple errors to multiple accounts most of which were not being affected by the post.

I then decided recover from backup since I had a backup a couple minutes old. Did a DIC immediately after restore with no errors; posted again and everything went through fine with no errors.

Windows Event Viewer recorded no Application or System errors.

Any idea why this occurred or how to prevent this from occurring in the future?

The network connection dropped during post, or you ran out of disk space, or your domain controller "disappeared" in the middle of posting.

I have plenty of disk space on the server but I will look into the network dropping issue.
