Good morning,

I have noticed that in inventory when a credit note is issued for a price adjustment only (not returning product) that the system takes the total qty out of sales history of that product but not value of sale.

Example: Say you sold 5 bags @ 2.00 each and $1.25 each(inventory value), sales history shows qty sold 5, sales amt 10.00, actual cost 6.25. The customer was quoted 1.75 each, a credit note is entered for 5 @ .25, return box for qty is not checked only value diff.

When credit note is posted and day end completed the sales history will show "0" qty sold, sales amt 8.75, actual cost 6.25 and no qty is returned to inventory. Why is the qty being removed out of the sales history?

Or is there another way to enter price adjustments only?

It is much easier to show on the computer vs. writing it done.

Hi Heather

There is a better way which I strongly recommend using.

Credit out the original invoice in total and re-issue an invoice for the corrected amount. Not only will have this the correct inventory effect, but it will make more sense to most customers.

You don't have to create a duplicate order from scratch in Adagio - you can copy an existing one to use as a start, and then make the necessary adjustments.

Steve

To Softrak R&D:

Should we add this to the list of reason why the Item Valuation cannot be back-dated?

No Patricia.
Sales History statistics are not looked at by the Item Valuation report. IC Transaction History details are.

It makes it very diffcult and time consuming if a person credits and rebills the invoice. Some of these invoices are already short pd by the customer, so the price adjustments are being issued two or three months after the fact (if not longer).

Therefore when the person entering the cash batch is posting pmt they will not know that the invoice has a credit and a rebill. They would have to go through the customers history and check all invoices and credits, this is what is time consuming.

Is there not another way to do this without issuing a credit and rebill or is it possible to use the Misc charges(as an item line)and have it for price adjustments only. Would this work because it will not change the qty in sales history?
