Does this error appear 100% of the time when posting batches in AR/AP for your client's company data? How about other batches such as AP manual checks or AR invoices? What if they attempted to access sample data and try posting a batch type that is giving them problems in their live data?
I suspect that some data or system file is corrupted that is not checked by integrity check, such as EZSEMTAB.dat or EZTASKS.LD4. Shutting a server down when someone is accessing programs/data on it typically won't leave everything clean. Doing the test with sample data can help isolate whether the issue is related to their data or the system.
Also please indicate what versions of AR/AP are installed.
