Is it possible (or could it be possible in the future) to schedule data integrity checks within just one module? We have Data Care running every night but I need to complete data integrity checks within single modules throughout the day sometimes, and we are finding it impractical to kick everybody out whenever an integrity check is needed during working hours.
Data Care found 14 Inventory item (1) errors. I have no idea what they are.

Hi Fong

It is not possible and wouldn't be a wise idea for Softrak to change Adagio to allow for running Data Integrity Check while users are in the Adagio dataset. This is what it sounds like you want. The chances of someone changing the data while it is being checked are too large.

Thanks, Steve. yes I know.
We in the accounting department (a small office of 7) working with Adagio modules have no problem of closing the programs for 15, 30 minutes. But we have over 20 Gridviews open at all time by the sales department and they don't like to be shut down.
I can do period end, Year End with Gridview opened But not DIC.

Hi Fong,

Yes, but GridView is only reading the data it is looking at and so does not lock any databases. People entering orders or invoices may update many files by hitting the Post button. Also, a Data Integrity Check itself may need to update files. Having people in the database while the checking is going on is to risky.

Also, the fact that we "know" that no one is in the database allows us to take shortcuts to speed the process since no one else can be doing anything unexpected.

You should be coming to the Adagio Opportunity Conference to learn about Data Integrity Checks, managing upgrades, the new version of Adagio PurchaseOrders and generally to lobby everyone at Softrak for the changes that would be most useful to you!

(You'd also get to meet Steve too!)

Hi Andrew,

So, we can complete DIC while Gridview is open?

As in: all of us in accounting will get out of the modules to do the DIC, while allowing the salesmen to remain in Gridview to do their viewing?

Not unless you copy the data to a separate location and let the salesmen look at the copy. Which isn't a bad idea in general.
