Environment : Server 2008R2 SMB2 Oplocks ON

Our client was experiencing database corruption and it was identified that files were cached on the server.

Their IT technical support found out that share drives in Server 2008R2 need to be setup not to allow offline caching.

Technically, the files were being downloaded and resynchronized from the server to local workstations (and back).

This setting was not enough to eliminate the file caching.
Since the problem is happening only in certain W7 workstations, we found that the offline files syncronization was enabled. This setting should be disabled for workstations working with Adagio.

Patricia, I'm not quite sure I followed your latest response. Could you please summarize all the changes that were made to resolve your client's problem?

In Control Panel | Synch Center disable offline files if possible to make sure that this problem doesn't occur.



If this is not possible, then be very careful about what shares are being Synched. You may find Windows is moving individual files from the server tot he workstation and back thinking they need to be available offline.

All these setting may have cause caching and locking of files but they were not the cause of our client issue. It is a glitch in Ledger 9.0C that is locking the GLMAST files. The information is updated but not read by the next action. You have to exit the program to release the files and be able to read the updated information.

According to the release nots of Ledger 9.0D this problem may have been fixed.

For all reading this thread, the issue Patricia alluded to in Ledger 9.0C that was fixed in 9.0D was when printing the Source Journal report, which did not release the account master files after printing. This is fine now.
