Hello John
I am sure there is nothing wrong with the printer itself. These things normally are pinned down to either a setting in Windows or the printer driver itself.
You say you are using the latest driver for the HP1000 - are you using the version 6 of the 'PCL' emulation then? There are known issues when using PCL6 - the recommendation is to use PCL5 - there are no known issues with this earlier version that we are aware of. The problems associated with the PCL6 version vary, this may be another one of them.
ALso - can you please confirm if you checked the Fonts setting in the Display Settings area? It would be helpful to know if this was an issue or not, although I suspect not. I have also heard where the 'first time around' after changing the setting back to Small Fonts may not work until after you reboot the PC.
If these suggestions still do not help, could you tell us:
- Is this printer actually connected to the Server on a Network, or locally to your PC?
- Is there a printer 'switch' involved that is used to 'switch' between this printer and another?
- Does the problem happen consistently, every time the report is printed - or intermittently?
- Does any other station exhibit this problem when printing this same AR Overdue Receivables report?
- What version of Windows are you running on your station?
Another indication that this has more to do with a setting, cable or printer card etc than Adagio is that it does preview just fine - only when the actual print out is done does it exhibit the problem...however, because it only shows up in the Adagio report - this is a problem nevertheless.
Thanks for any additional information. I am going to test this printer driver with this report on my station (W2K).
