A client maintains inventory at different stores, with each store having its own location code. Each store does its own shipping/invoicing, relieving inventory from its location. Stock transfers are made when inventory is physically delivered from the main warehouse to the store location.

At least that's the way it's supposed to work.

However, when for some reason Adagio does not show enough inventory on hand at the store's location, the shipping clerk is overriding the location to the main warehouse and relieving inventory from there. This is, of course, messing up inventory numbers at the main warehouse.

Granted, there are internal procedures that need to be improved. But is there a way to restrict users at one store to having access only to its location, and not other locations?

You didn't mention which module they are using for shipping/invoicing.

If OE then use the template to default the location and ship the field. This makies it uneditable. You can have a different template for each store.
