New printer in A/P now feeds paper face down. Is there a way to do a cheque run without restacking the cheques in reverse order? Our old printer fed face-up and this was not an issue.

There is a very easy way. Use blank cheque stock. No restacking worries. And you will save money.

You can also order checks from your check supplier in reverse order.

Don't know how many checks you print at one time, but you might check the orientation of the manual feed tray. It sometimes feeds the paper differently. If this worked it could be used until you next check order. And as Brian said blank check stock works VERY nicely.

I received an off-the-forum message asking me why I did not simply suggest that you turn your pile of cheques updide down and feed them into your new printer that way. I can only presume that it is because your pre-printed cheques alreay have cheque numbers printed on them and doing so would mess up your cheque numbering sequence.

I am a big proponent of using blank cheque stock with Adagio. It makes life much easier, especially if you have multiple bank accounts. It is considerably cheaper and it increases security. (If someone steals your blank cheque stock, they might as well have stolen your photocopy paper, from a security point of view.) When I am not able to sell the idea of blank cheque stock to my clients, I advise them NOT to have the cheque number pre-printed on the cheque form. Let Adagio print the cheque number. It will avoid a lot of pain when you have a printer malfunction or other reason to reprint a batch of cheques - ensuring that the cheque number that Adagio assigned to the cheque and the printed cheque number are always identical.

Hi Brian

I agree with your answer, and I always recommend using blank check stock when appropriate.

But I didn't think that the Thunder was looking for an answer that involved spending money - if he/she did, I would have said to go buy a printer that feeds the checks the normal way.

Steve
