we are using the newest modules in everything except inventory we are on 8.1b because sales CQ is not ready to interface. WE do not use the quote function that interfaces with inventory in sales CQ. We use mostly CQ to track prospects & some customer things. Could we still use limited functions in CQ with the new inventory version without creating problems & errors?
What would happen or not function in sales CQ if we upgraded inventory to the new version?

The only compatiblity issue between SalesCQ and Inventory V8.1C involves the addition of an inventory item. If you add an inventory item in SalesCQ, the index that allows lookup by item description is not updated. The DIC in Inventory will notice the problem and happily rebuild the index . No data will be lost (although the DIC error might be a little disconcerting). If you advise people not to add inventory items from SalesCQ, you won't notice this at all.

OK one more question going to Inventory 8.1c will I have compatibility issues with Purchase Orders 8.1a or is there an upgrade available?

Same issue as with SalesCQ.

Same issue with Purchase Orders, where if you create an item in PO then the same errors would occur. Also, Purchase Orders does not yet support the Reorder Data by Location feature implemented in Inventory 8.1C.

We did indeed install the 8.1C last night. My first question is going to be "when in an item, I used to be able to access a History tab, which when loaded showed me all the recent history of the item. I do not see that right now. Is there a toggle to turn on or ?"

Check the security settings.
