OS - Windows 7
User had local admin and uac turned off.
Had 8.1b installed and did upgrade to 8.1c.
Uac had been turned on for the installs but have since turned off to troubleshoot.
This is a brand new install so it has never worked on this system.

The problem is when we try to retrieve accounting data from simply accounting 2010 files. Point it to the simply data file. Either put in the username and password or not, doesnt matter. Hit retrieve and it comes up with the error user access denied.

I double checked the permissions both on the softrak folder and the folder where the simply data is found and both are set to full access. Opening the companies from simply works fine. I am at a loss as to what access it is being denied.

It is your setup in Simply Accounting that is denying access. You must allow access to Third-Party products. Adagio FX may also have a problem if the User Password is greater than 6 characters.

It was the combination of third party access and the password being too long. Thanks.

Good to know you got it working. The maximun password length Adagio FX handles correctly from Simply Accounting is 7 characters not 6 as I stated above.
