WE HAVE RECENTLY REINSTALLED QUIK REPORTS FOR WINDOWS. IT SEEM TO WORK FINE UNTIL WE CLOSE THE PROGRAM. AT THAT TIME WE GET AN ERROR MESSAGE AS FOLLOWS:

CRW
AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED IN YOUR PROGRAM, ETC, CLOSE OR IGNORE.

WHEN WE CHOOSE CLOSE, WE GET AN ILLEGAL OPERATION MESSAGE.

ANY IDEA WHY WE ARE GETTING THIS? THANKS

Hi Sharron,

We have heard of this before when you try closing reports - but not when closing the actual program. Does the error actually occur when you use the little 'x' at top right corner of the REPORT? Or does it occur when actually closing the QRWIN program?

If you use 'File - Close' does this occur? It should not, if using this method.

If the problem is as stated above, then this is a problem stemming from the crpe (Crystal) and there is nothing we can do about it. You must use File - Close to close your reports.

This problem only happens on certain environments, and it is still unknown as to the exact cause.

If this has been consistent since you installed QRWIN, then this goes further to support this information, however, if it is something that just started happening, (i.e. it has never occurred before, and you have been using QRWIN successfully in the past) then you could ask:
1. Has anything changed on your station or the server recently?
2. Do you have any other programs installed that use Crystal?
3. Does this occur on every report, or just certain ones? What is the difference (if any) between these reports?

Regards,
