POA 8.1A (091029)

We had a Receipt to the wrong vendor in POA, so we changed the Vendor (POA allows this) and posted the Invoice using the right Vendor. Now we have this error in POA's Integrity Check:

2-RC 00002340 has critical error: Actual number of vendors found not equal to number stored in the header file. This data may be corrupt

"Rebuild" is not available (greyed out).

1. Is there a way to get rid of this error?

2. If changing the Vendor causes a Critical error can you disable this ability in POA?

There is an option in the Company Profile (Interface Tab) which allows you to disallow the changing of a vendor at invoicing.

Thanks PwC. I unchecked "Vendor Change on Invoice" to prevent this problem in the future. Can anyone tell me if there's a way to get rid of the Integrity error? I have a bunch of new errors in POA Integrity Check today after deleting some obsolete item codes. Can we get rid of the errors?? Rebuild is greyed out and not available. Please help.

I restored from a back up due to the errrors after deleting obsolete item codes, but still need to know if I can get rid of the 1 error:

Use the Toolkit for Adagio to merge all obsolete items into a single item number.

Sounds like a good plan! I suppose I can also avoid this in DataCare, "Application Integrity... 795 error(s) Orphan History Records found ................................... FAILED".

BTW, I still need an answer on how to get rid of the 2-RC 00002340 has critical error: Actual number of vendors found not equal to number stored in the header file. This data may be corrupt. Or maybe I can just ignore this error and let it eventually move to history?

We haven't been able to duplicate this issue. We've tested changing vendors on invoice/adjustments and not created any data integrity errors as a result. Something else must have occurred on your system.

As the error cannot be rebuilt, you would require a database repair to get rid of the error. You can choose to ignore the error; however, we cannot guarantee it won't create other problems down the road.

On a brand new POA install, with only one test PO in the whole database, I got the same error message after installing POA 8.1A 091029 - "Actual number of vendors found not equal to number stored in the header file. This data may be corrupt". I hadn't changed the vendor code. DIC was clean.

When I went back into the order, the error had disappeared and all seems OK. I chalked it up as a fluke until reading this thread. Now I think there may be some flaw in the service pack that reported this, even though there is no real error.

We're still unable to reproduce this error either in the document itself, when posting or in a data integrity check.

Are you able to provide steps and perhaps any other information that might make what you did a little different than what we're doing? Any extra kind of detail lines? Number of vendors (eg. only header vendor or multiple vendors in detail lines and how many)? When exactly did you receive this error? After creating the order? When creating it?

Any more information you can provide could be useful as we are still unable to recreate it and are using this SP also.

I wasn't paying attention and now I can't get it to happen. I'll keep my eyes open for it again.
