I was wondering if there is a way to set a user profile so that they can data entry in job cost without seeing the dollar amounts? For privacy reasons, we don't want everyone using job cost to know how much someone makes.

Sorry, no. You need to be able to see the amounts to verify that the data has been entered properly. Who's to say that the rates being entered are the amounts the employees are earning? This is not always the case.

If you are using PayDirt Payroll, you can feed Adagio JobCost from Payroll and restrict entry.

Thanks for your reply, but truthfully, I don't understand what you are saying. Can you explain that in simpler terms?

We do use PayDirt payroll. We currently enter all time in Job Cost and upload to PayDirt. Would it be a different process?

Carla:

The best practice is to consolidate your payroll accounts when posting into Adagio, so the payroll expenses will show only as a total per job/phase/category.

Paydirt has a setting to consolidate or not the job costing interface.

Hi,

We have a number of clients that use Paydirt with Job Costing. Depending upon the time sensitivity (how frequently you need to see current costing) in your Job Costing, you have options as Andrew has suggested. Paydirt is an excellent solution to interface with Job Costing, with various options.

We have no sites that enter payroll into Job Costing and then import from Job Costing into Paydirt. And we probably would not go there. We can enter time sheet entries or import into Paydirt quite easily, and then into Job Costing. Either situation provides confidentiality of payroll, assuming that project managers would normally get to see payroll hourly costs.

Talk to your Adagio consultant(s). They should be able to assist and show you with the best practical integration to solve your confidentiality concerns.

Best,
Brian
