Is there a recommended way to use Adagio to produce customer quotes using the customers, item codes and prices already set up in Adagio Receivables and Inventory? We are often required to quote our customers. Email is the preferred method. Once the customer approves the quote, we'd like to be able to convert the quote into an order. Can we do this in OE? I was thinking of creating another spec sheet called "Price Quote" to accomplish this but I think I'd have to put in quantities shipped for it to show the totals. I don't want to create an invoice at this stage. It would be good to have a place on the system where these quotes are stored so that no matter who takes the call, they can look up the quote on the system. Any ideas?

Adagio SalesCQ is built for keeping up with prospects and providing quotes to current customers or prospects. Once a customer approves the quote the quote can be transferred to an order. As in other modules email delivery is an option.

Will fit you needs perfectly.

Hello Susan:

Softrak has a module that does exactly what you have described. It is called SalesCQ. The name comes from the fact that it combines 2 functions: (C)ontact Management and (Q)uotes. You can issues a Quote either to an existing Customer or to a Lead/Contact. The Quote can be emailed. If the Quote is accepted, you simply turn it into an Order.

You will find more information here: SalesCQ

And by the way, the Contact Management component is very useful for the Customer Service and Collections departments.

Hi Susan,

Well - you've already been pointed at SalesCQ, so I won't bother reiterating the recommendation.

One of its major benefits is that it allows the sales people to prepare quotes without affecting the "committed" quantities in Inventory. Also, quotes have no accounting impact, so the module can be provided to the sales team without the accounting department having to fear what they might be doing!

Thnaks for the info. I'll download and install the trial and have our staff try it and see how much they actually use it.
