I just need to clarify this.....The client was upgraded last week to the above mentioned GL. After conversion the prior year (2006) was imported into the system. However, when she attempts to print the detailed listing report for 2006 while she can see the correct balances for each period it shows her some details lines with the description "P? Supporting Details are missing". We attempted to open the 2006 data with the prior version but got the message "version is not compatible etc."

Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought prior years were not converted by 9.0A??

Oh yeah, Also the post to prior year function is greyed out, even though the option is enabled in the profile, and the user has the necessary security acccess.

If you get 'P? supporting details are missing', then the sum of the posted transaction details for the period do not sum to the amount of the Net Changes amount for the period (viewable in Edit History).

If you have the Next Fiscal Year open, then you will not be allowed to Post to Prior Year - this is the way it works. You will get this function back after you close the year.

Regarding Prior year posting - I realized just after I posted that that was probably the reason for the "greyed out" factor.

Okay....Client's current year is 2007. 2008 was created, but she needs to post some transactions to 2006. Since 2006 has been imported (and now possible was imported incorrectly), can this process be re-done??

Also, why is she getting the "version is not compatible with xx" message when she attempts to open the 2006 data in using the prior ledger version

Sorry, once you create the new year, you cannot post back in 2006. You'll have to go back to a backup and restart the entire process. What transactions are you trying to post back in 2006? Are they relevent? Why not just post them in period #1 of 2007 (since you are now working on 2008)?

Regarding the "version not compatible" message: Did she open 2006 with Ledger V9.0A? If so then the ealier version of Ledger will not be able to open it.
