We have recently upgraded from ACCPAC plus and i have scheduled a datacare integrity check each night. Every morning the report says there have been errors in Transaction History or Alternative Price List and each day the number of errors changes, going up or down. At the end of the check it rebuilds and asks to run the check again. This happens each time the check is run. Is this normal? What would cause the data to keep getting these numbers of errors? After it rebuilds wouldn't the errors be fixed? Will it "works it's way out" if i keep running the check and allowing it to rebuild... or will the errors just keep on reiterating themselves?

Thanks!

Hello kyle775,

It depends on the specific errors that are being reported.

It sounds like you're using DataCare for your overnight checking. One day, run the DIC in Inventory and click the Rebuild button, and keeping doing this until the number of errors stabilizes. Then see what isnecessary to fix the errors that are being reported.

You can cut and paste the error report from the DIC into a post here so we can see the specific errors.

Thanks for the speedy reply Andrew.
when i run the datacare integrity check overnight all the modules are selected. is there a difference between DataCare and DIC?

I have also noticed that when no one does any work in order entry or retreives anything from OE in sales analysis there doesnt seem to be any errors in Trasionaction history or Alternative price lists.
On monday i will try and run "DIC" in Inventory clicking rebuild.

This is strange, when i run a check from the Inventory Control Module, on a local backup of my data, there are no errors.

If you are getting integrity errors over the network, but non on a local copy, then your netwok card is failing. Try from another machine to see if it is the workstation or server network card (or it might be a hub or router problem).
