Yes, it's a separate exe and, depending on what version(release date) of Ledger you are using, determines the file being used for the FR.
It's possible but no guarantee that something went awry in your install of the product if, for example, you recently installed an update to Ledger.
Please run the FR and select Help | About from the menu. There should be a number of items listed on the System Info tab. I'm interested in knowing the Path/Name and Version for at least ...LedgerFinRep.exe and, as you didn't say earlier what version(release date) of Ledger you are running, I'd like to know that also along with the ssi2xl being used.
I've tested this using the current shipping version of Ledger9.3A(190720) and FR 2.1.8.2653 which uses LedgerFinRep64.exe. The ExcelDirect from multiple places in the FR is working for me when I run Ledger over a LAN from the server.
What has changed on your system between when the function last worked for you and now? Is there someone else in your office that can run the FR and see if the ExcelDirect works for them from their computer?
