Please make sure that you are using the latest version of JobCost 68B (050928). We have made some changes to reports that are related to Retainage.

The first note from Help is only meant to indicate that you can?t create a Retainage Invoice for more than the amount that was retained.

When you post the original Invoice with retainage, the Billing entry that goes to JobCost is not for the amount net of retainage. It is for the Total amount and it is reported as Billings in JobCost.

When the Retainage invoice is posted in JobCost, it will reduce the Retainage receivable amount and it will not affect the Billings amount.

If your Retainage invoices are not going to JobCost, double-check your entry in Receivables. When you select the original invoice, it does not automatically fill in the Job number field.
