Hi McNeill,

Not a dumb question at all. In fact, the Adagio Ledger Financial Reporter does not support cell references from one sheet to another. Though this is available in Excel, it is not in Adagio. You also cannot reference a cell in a different Adagio workbook file, like you can in Excel.

There are no plans to implement cell references across sheets or files at this time. You would need to perform one or more workarounds, as cell references are only available onthe same sheet:

- Include all the same rows/columns that you want to reference from the 2nd sheet in your original sheet and do the referencing there. If you don't want them to print, then you can either hide the rows/columns completely or format the rows/columns to 'Hide when Printed'
- Whatever calculation was being performed in the cell on the 2nd sheet, simply recreate that formula in a cell on the original sheet. You can do some fairly complicated and sophisticated formulas in the Financial Reporter.
- There may be others available.

You can export Financial Reports to Excel, so if this cell referencing across sheets is required, perhaps there is something you can set up here.

The next release of Adagio Ledger will contain a 'Direct' export to Excel, meaning all formatting will be maintained for the exported statement.

Regards,
