(this might be more of an Excel question, but here goes...)

A client uses the /XDW parameter to export a GridView Workspace to Excel. The Excel workbook consists of a sheet (or tab) for each View within the Workspace being exported. The Excel sheet names correspond to the View names and the Excel workbook name corresponds to the Workspace name.

They want to print the whole Excel workbook in one shot, with each sheet displaying the sheet name at the top of the page, not the (same) workbook name on each page. Is there a way to send a Page Header to Excel from GridView? Or is there a way in Excel to set the Page Heading to default to the sheet name?

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

As far as GridView is concerned, you can put $R in the Header or Footer, which outputs the GV 'View title', and this information is part of the Excel export. Printing the Excel workbook has the Sheet name for me - I tested in the Excel Footer, but the same should happen for the Header as well.

Excel 2016 needs &[Tab] to print the sheet name in the header or footer, and for me this is what the $R code got translated to in the export to Excel.
