the password in my e-mail set-up keeps getting lost and reverting back to some 2 digit password.
when I change it back, it will not keep new password for more than an hour or so.
very frustrating. keep getting complaints from customers that they didn't receive e-mail.
now i have to double check each one.

Hi CRR,

Which version of OE? Is it just the password that is affected or the entire email setup, or more?

The email settings within Adagio are stored in a specific text file in the data directory, along with other company settings. I presume you use the Direct method for the setup, which requires the account name and password. Recent versions of Adagio store the password as encrypted in this file.

It sounds like something is getting regularly corrupted or overwritten or lost in this text file. The best guess I have is that this file can be read and written to by any Adagio OE user for this company data, so perhaps while one user is doing something, another user tries to write to the file and something gets confused. Hopefully each of your staff logs into Adagio OE with their own unique user ID. Whether this is the situation, or likely something totally different, it's best to get your Adagio consultant involved.

We are using OE 9.3A. Each employee has their own unique log in ID and password, and each one has their own email information. This only happens on only 1 computer with his own log in, we have 11 computers using Adagio. Our Consultant didn't know how to fix it since it's only 1 computer.
