This morning when my client logs into a company in Adagio from one workstation, the toolbar shows up as dim until the data loads. At this point, the toolbar disppears and the adagio desktop kind of has raised lines and no menu items work.

Other workstations are functioning.

I ran JC WS setup and that did nothing. I uninstalled and re-ran ALLWKST and that did nothing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, Carol,

What's jumping out at me is just below the double line where it reports the user is running Adagio JobCost 6.8B (050114). Really? Is that what she's running? What version (release) of JobCost are the other w/s's running?

I ask for a several reasons:

- AJ6.8B is ... 11 years old and no longer supported

- Only Adagio versions 8.1A and higher were tested with Vista and Win7 and they're running Win10

- They are on an Upgrades plan

- If her shortcut is pointing to a different install point than the others, it should be corrected.

- If her shortcut is pointing to and running a current version of Adagio JobCost, then her registry might contain incorrect information.

They are always close to if not current. Perhaps the old 6.8 is still on the server. I go out there about every 6 month and remotely work w/ them every couple of weeks. Other workstations are using the version

This workstation had been working until this morning. She had been in JC and AP on Monday and was off yesterday. FYI this is happening in AP too.

BTW Chksys.exe will not run. It is staying that i need to insert a disk for drive F to continue. Not sure what that's about since Adagio is on mapped Drive G and there isn't even a drive F.

Confused.

Hi, Carol,

Was ChkSys run from her w/s? Drives changing ... did someone plug an external device into her w/s while she was away or some new card in her w/s? That can sometimes cause issues on occasion if the drive letters used are closer to A.

You haven't said if her shortcuts she is running AJ and AP from has the same Target paths as the other w/s's are using.

It does sound like they might have an old installation on their system. JobCost 9.2A uses the Softrak\JobCost\JobCost.exe. You could do a search on her w/s and the server for AJWIN.exe. They should have only one (current) install of Adagio modules on their system.

OK, when I run chksys from HER workstation I get the following message:

All I can do is use Task Manager to terminate. Do you know what the file is?

Properties for the shortcut are correct:
G:\SOFTRAK\JobCost\JobCost.exe

Try restarting the computer.
If it doesn't work, check if there are any errors on the right bottom corner related to synchronize files conflicts. In some weird cases, I found that the file synchronization has been enabled and Adagio is using a copy of certain files on the local machine causing issues.

This happens when file synchronization is enabled and there has been a disconnection from the network at some point.

Carol, thanks for the added information about the shortcut and the new GetAdagioWorkstationInfo.

You still haven't said that you've completed a search on the local w/s and the server for AJWIN.exe. I'm still concerned that, originally, the w/s was reporting that JobCost 6.8B existed.

Also, you haven't confirmed whether, when Grace was at the other w/s and she successfully ran Adagio, she was logged onto that w/s using her own Windows logon or if the other user was still logged into that w/s as herself.

In my first post, I stated that all other workstations were running Adagio w/o issue.

They did reboot the pc -- they did that a couple times before they even called me. I'll have their IT person check out about the synchronize files.
