I had to re-install Adagio AP and GL recently due to a computer issue that uninstalled them and when they were re-installed once the program is opened the toolbars are fine but all of the boxes and the print within them that I am working on is so small it is very difficult to read. I have changed the font size in windows and on the display but that seems only to affect the tool bars everything within the program remains the same. Any suggestions?

Hi Margaret,

In general, font settings on Windows need to be at '100%' rather than using Large fonts at '125%' or '150%', This might have the effect of making objects and text small if the Windows display settings are set at a very high resolution, as with any other Windows program.

One possible thing to do is decrease the resolution.

This is a link to a technical tip on our website in regards to using Adagio and how that works with Windows Large Fonts settings.

I tried your suggestions but it didn't correct it. Everything seems to be the smaller size now including Adagio. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro. Is there something different with that?

One of our clients upgrade her computer to Windows 10 and she used to have Large Fonts. Adagio doesn't adjust to the Large Fonts in Windows 10. Adagio versions 9.2A. I tried putting the fonts to the normal setting and decrease the resolution and the icons grew but Adagio continues the same size.

Hi Patricia,

From someone else who uses Windows 10 (I do not), there is a display setting called ‘enable high-DPI’. Does your client use this?

Apparantly in Windows 10, it is possible to set these Display Large Fonts values by monitor, in a multi-monitor configuration. Did you make the same settings for each monitor?

What are the release dates of your client's Adagio 9.2A programs? I found a note that we attempted a change in formatting, and that started in releases from March 2016 and onward. It would be good for confirmation that it works for those outside of Softrak, as it apparently made a difference for R&D Windows 10 users.

Hi Patricia,

I expect that this is dependent on the video driver to some extent. My Windows 10 Lenovo properly adjusts all the Adagio screens when I set the Font size to 150%. The only thing that doesn't adjust properly is the Print Preview of a Form in the specification designer.

However, I have seen Adagio on a high resolution Surface Pro 4 and the screens were too small to read on the native display and it didn't matter what Font size was chosen in the control panel.

Unfortunately, there are different ways that Windows tells a program how the screen works, and so sorting this out is going to be a challenge.

PS - My search of my Control Panel settings for "Enable high DPI" did not reveal any results.
