I exported last year's budget to a spreadsheet, made the changes for this year's budget, but on import nothing is coming over. It says 'Import complete. 413 records were imported. 0 records had corrupt data.' The budget hasn't changed from last year, though. I've imported budgets in prior years without an issue, so I don't know what my problem is this year. I went to watch the How to Import Budgets on your YouTube channel, and I don't see what I'm missing. Under File Information I've ticked off 'Validate before importing' (which at first gave me 4 errors from accounts I added in my spreadsheet but didn't add in Adagio), and I've tried both with and without 'Header Included' ticked off. Under 'Import Field Selection' I have Account Code, Dept Code, and Periods 1 - 12 Budget ticked off. In Field Defaults the only default is Fiscal Year. Any thoughts on what I'm missing??

Hi EMB,

Where are you looking to determine if the budgets have been updated? Editing an account budget? A value on a grid? Somewhere else? Are you updating Current year budgets or Next year?

Edit the import budgets template and on the Defaults tab, note what fiscal year you are actually importing to, just to make sure this is the desired year. Then edit/view budgets for the desired year to see if the changes are made. Actually edit or view the specific account to see the budget records, rather than grids, just to play it safe.

If you are relying on the Budget Total field that can be added to the Edit Accounts/Budgets grid, this value is always representative of the Current fiscal year. So if you are import budgets to Next year, you won't see a change in this grid column until year end is complete.

I'm looking in the Financial Reporter. I also looked directly at Edit Budget Data for individual accounts. I had done a soft close on our Mar 31/15 year end but I finished with that last week so the only year I have now is the current year, Apr 1/15 - Mar 31/15. Under Field Defaults for Fiscal Year the year is 2016. I just now tried entering a budget for one account under Edit Budget Data, and it worked fine.

Maybe this will help you help me - I ran a data integrity check and there's a bunch of budget errors, all the accounts have orphan budget/forecast records for fiscal year [2]

Budgets/Forecasts ... 760 error(s) found
Net Change ... Checked OK
Posting Journals ... Checked OK
Reallocation accounts ... Checked OK
Account Filters ... Checked OK

Application Integrity Phase ... 760 error(s) found

After I did a rebuild the errors were gone. I then tried reimporting the budget data again, and this time it worked.

Good news that things are working. And thanks also for the additional detail as to the integrity errors, as that sheds more light as to what happened - and that it shouldn't happen again.

There was a problem in an older version of Ledger where after Year End was done, the default year on import budgets/forecasts/net changes templates got corrupted, although the display appeared to show the correct year. DIC and rebuild fixes this error now - as you found - and if you have the latest service pack from May 2015, this scenario should get detected and fixed when the import template is loaded. And as a final check, you can always re-select the year from the default tab, the first time you want to import budgets after closing a fiscal year.

I wasn't sure if you were running into this specific issue so I wanted to cover the simpler scenarios first.
