The export is controlled by Crystal, and reports were designed with paper/PDF display in mind, not Excel formatting. To be doing detail analysis of accounting data in Excel, we more highly recommend using Excel Direct to create the file, not a report export. In your example, either from the GL View Transactions screen or from a Financial Report detail drill-down.
Excel Direct is enabled on the User, by selecting the 'Allow SF Export' checkbox. (SF is Smart Finder, the first place where Excel Direct was implemented).
There has been some discussion about this in recent threads on this forum. Is there a particular reason why the reports are being exported to Excel, apart from the fact that this was first way available pre-ExcelDirect and this method has been ingrained? Here is one link to a thread that
suggests creating an Excel file from the Preview window, not print to Excel file, which may give more desirable results. Though we believe Excel Direct is still preferable.
