My understanding is that our Adagio programs will open faster if we enable opportunistic locking on our SBS 2003 Server and XP Workstations? Are there any concerns or reasons that I shouldn't proceed with this?

The notes on our Compatibility page will be about the limit of our comment about Opportunistic Locking. There are too many different and diverse hardware environments to offer specific site advice on the forum.

Make sure that all your XP workstations are at SP 3 level.

I don't see any notes about opportunistic lock on your compatibility page. My dealer (Don from Westboro) thinks that we can enable it, but I remember you (Andrew) mentioning that you wouldn't advise it for some reason so just wanted to double check.

If Don says it's OK, then I'd go with that advice. We've been running with OpLocks Enabled for more than a year with Server 2003, but we are not running XP workstations. All our workstations are Windows 7 or Vista.

OpLocks had to be disabled if you were running Accpac Plus.
