I have an existing check spec that I would like to make a minor change to. I am in the 'Check ' section of my spec and just want to shift all that is in that section down the equivalent of one row. How exactly do I search the Help section for this? I've looked everywhere and have come to the conclusion that I am not using the correct terminology. (Or of course, how do I ultimately do it?) laugh

Hi Lulu,

If the desire is to take every field and object in the Check section of a specification, and move them down about 1/6 of an inch or so (one row) in order to have more space at the top (and properly align with the check form), then the steps are:

- If required, increase the size of the check section by right-clicking on the Check section title grey bar, choose Properties, and increase the section Height by the desired amount. Do this only if the check prints at the bottom of the form, or if the advices that print under the check are also similarly mis-aligned by one row, and there is currently no space at the bottom of the check section.
- Use the mouse to drag a lasso around every field and object in the check section. You should see each object selected with grey colored squares, indicating that the objects are multi-selected.
- Use the down arrow key on the keyboard to push all the fields down a little bit until they are positioned as desired.
- Save the change, and print a copy of the check from the designer to plain paper to test the alignment.

If you find that the check form now prints on two pages instead of one (because you had to increase the height of the check section), you will have to also tweek an advice section height and decrease by a similar height. Or it might mean opening the File menu and Specification Options, and decrease the number of advice details by 1. Check forms work differently than other specfications, because of the nature of positioning the check and advice sections on the page.
