Is there any way to setup a custom field in Jobcost to track e.g.adjuster's name for each job? Or is using notes the best way to do this? I need to be able to do Gridview report.

Hi Eva,

The current version of Adagio JobCost does not support optional fields. So to put in exra information on the job, you are correct that the Notes would be the place to store this - if you are already using the 'Manager' field for jobs. If Manager is not used, this might be a good place to track this.

GridView can connect the job master and the notes, so using links or formulas can accomplish this requirement, especially if the current GV9.0C is used to create formulas that reads information from other data files.

For using it in the notes, we need to upgrade to GV 9.0C to add it to the job margins report, correct?

Thanks.

If you want a single view in GridView that contains information from both the Notes file and some other file (ie Job Master, or Job Details, etc), then indeed you would need GV9.0C which supports the formulas to 'insert' the notes information as a column into a view based on a separate data file.

Is there a specific way they have to enter this information in the notes screen for it to show up in a column? I assume she will not have the option of doing a drop down.

Thank you for your support.

No special way to enter it in the note is required. You are correct that no drop-down is available if you choose to use notes to store this information.
