Adagio Inventory Upgrade Released!

Check out the upgrade now available for download.

Adagio Inventory 8.1B (2009.07.14)
  • Adds full AR 9.0A feature compatibility and generic features found in AR 9.0A compatibility upgrades to other products.
  • Many enhancements to edit / view item function
  • Entry and inquiry forms made sizeable
  • Inquiry to Purchase Orders for Adagio in item inquiry
  • Add items on the fly in shipment and receipt entry
  • Import/export sales history and Categories
  • ...and much more...

This release also has the generic enhancements added in other releases and implements AR 9.0A extensions where appropriate.

There is a new feature in this release that was inadvertantly left off the Release Note. Adagio Inventory now automatically hides the item cost fields from the Grid if the user does not have access to the menu item "Display with costs". This means that you can allow people to customize their grid settings without worrying about them seeing costing information.

At many OE/IC sites, users are precluded from customizing the grids because of the cost fields being visible. You can now remove this restriction.

OrderEntry V8.1C should be available before the end of August and will also have this feature.

We welcome any and all feedback.

I installed this upgrade and instructed each user to answer "YES" to “Would you like your historical company access list set up”? However, someone still chose "NO". How can this be resolved?

Hi Susan,

Well, the list will build itself automaticaly as they access the different company datasets, so that's the easiest (just browse to to one they need to open).

Or, you can edit the file \SOFTRAK\ICWIN\ICWIN.INI and copy any section [Recent Files - usr] to the bottom of the file and change the usr to their UserId.

Personally, I'd just browse to and open the companies that you want them to have access to.

We only access one company database which is in I:\Data so I think we're okay.

On another note, I searched for an item using Item Inquiry in the new Adagio Inventory. I used 2 search criteria, description containing speaker and item # containing OE and it gave me the results in 1 second. This is spectacular!! How did this happen? Is this part of the new upgrade?

The same search in OE Item Inquiry still takes 15 seconds. Will this change in OE?? OE is where we most often do item searches however we may keep in IC open at all times now and do our searches there given the speed difference.

Hi Susan,

Yes - this is part of the new upgrade and yes, you'll see an equivalent improvement in OrderEntry when it ships shortly.

Glad you like it!

I installed the IC upgrade on the weekend and never realized until just now that the Integrity Check that runs on schedule every night (Mon - Fri) ran Monday night (Civic Holiday in Ontario - so I didn't even think to check it). Turns out that Adagio Inventory reported "Item History, Application Integrity ... 485 error(s) found... FAILED. Then, Data Repair Phase, Correcting Phase 2 Errors, A total of 5342 history records were removed. HOLY SMOKES!!!

I looked at the specific items. Here are just a few among the 5342 listed:

Orphan item ZZ URC8017 history record(s) 1 have been removed.
Orphan item ZZ VC7500 history record(s) 2 have been removed.
Orphan item ZZ VE640 history record(s) 10 have been removed.
Orphan item ZZ XRS9730 history record(s) 2 have been removed.

It appears they are all item codes that were previously deleted many months or years ago. We didn't notice anything missing today and tonight's Integrity Check ran without errors.

Is this something new in IC? Perhaps it's cleaning out unneccessary information from the data that pertains to Item codes that no longer exist?

Hello Susan:

This new check was added in response to situations where references to these items were lingering in the History table even though the item itself had been deleted.

An error message would arise if an item code was added back at a later date. The cause is usually (always?) when the item was deleted using ACCPAC Plus. Do you think the items you mentioned were deleted that way?

Some may have been deleted back in the AccPac days, however I recognize some of these codes as being deleted from Adagio.

There was a table from which item
information was not being deleted when an item was deleted, and the integrity check was not catching the orphans. It is now (and cleaning them up). You should not get any further messages.
