I get an error 1212 when trying to upgrade from GL 8.0D to GL 9.0A. When it gets to the security groups portion of the upgrade I get the 1212 error. What could be the problem?

Hi, Jonathan,

An error 1212 refers to a problem with a dictionary file(s). It sounds like the install didn't go as planned and that one or more of the required dictionary files didn't get updated/created properly.

Look in the \Softrak\dict folder on the server for the @L90AI and @L90AR.ssi files. Are they there? What are the dates of these files? They should be 3/06/2008, are they? If the answer to either of these questions is 'no', you need to reinstall the upgrade.

Make sure that you are installing from a workstation that is connected to the server via a LAN.

I uninstalled the copy on the server and then reinstalled from a workstation. I restored the data again and got the same error message. What can I do now?

Hi, Jonathan,

We just spoke on the phone so you know what you need to do.

A number of the modules that were installed at the server yesterday have the date of the install rather than the file's correct date on them. It's important to rename the affected files prior to reinstalling. If there are too many, you will have to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of those modules.
