When most current versions of Adagio (including Lanpak 9) are installed on Vista Business SP1 server (peer-to-peer), attempts to open modules from any other workstation result in the second workstation “hanging”. There is no error message, just indefinite hang until the other workstation modules are closed.

User access control was turned off for installation, and is turned on for user access
Firewalls have been disabled
All windows users are administrators
Checksys shows no errors on either server or workstations

Hi Lizzy,

Can the second workstation log in if the first workstation exits?

Does the Task Manager show either task as doing anything? (esp reading and/or writing any bytes?)

Task Manager on second workstation shows "Not Responding", first shows "Running"

Actually, I'm referring to under the Processes tab, not the Applications tab. The "Not responding" message means nothing - just that the application hasn't picked up a mouse click or keypress (it may be busy doing something else).

Try getting everyone our of all Adagio/ACCPAC Plus modules and deleting EZSEMTAB.xxx in the data directory. See if that clears the problem.

You mentioned having SP1 for Vista. Is opportunistic locking enabled or disabled? I seem to recall that SP1 for Vista, and there is a bit of discussion on the forum here.

There are no errors when we run chksys.exe and this checks to make sure that opportunistic locking is disabled, correct?

If you roll back SP1 from Vista, does the problem still exist?
