Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me in OE 8.1a Edit Company Profile, but the colors say that only the company name can be edited on the Company Data tab.

That's true when you are integrated with Adagio Inventory. Edit the other company profile fields in Inventory's company profile.

This link between IC and OE produces a strange result with Company names. Try the following:

-Open IC in sample data and note the Company Name ("Adagio Corporation")
-Go to OE for the same dataset
-Open Company Profile and change it to "Adagio Corporation Order Entry"
-Close OE and go back to IC
-Open the Company Profile and the name will be "Adagio Corporation Order Entry"

I assume since you allow the Company names to be changed in IC and OE, you anticipate that a user might want them to be distinct. For instance, a client might want names like "ABC Company - Order Entry" so that the titles on printed reports distinguish the originating module.

I tried my interpretation of your logic changing the names, but all I can accomplish is the ability to change the name from either module. I don't see the title on printed reports being able to distinguish the originating module.

I was thinking of using different contact information on Crystal report headers.

Yes, in OE, if you change the company name in the profile, it will change the company name in IC also. We've changed this behaviour for the next release of OrderEntry.
