I have not updated to 9.0 yet and maybe I am glad I have not done so yet. In the response about the HotFix a statement was made about retrieving from other products but one that was NOT mentioned was DOS Accpac. I still run DOS Accpac payroll (DSS) and Accpac Job Costing. If I upgrade to Ledger 9.0, is it still fully compatible with these older products? My plan is to migrate to a newer system by January 2009.

I could not understand the statements about the changes to Financial reporter but I have run into an incidious problem with the Financial reporter in 8.0D. I spelled the "link.field" in upper and lower case instead of dragging the descriptor to the report. Everything was spelled correctly except the case and I have been reporting incorrect data for over 9 months. I have now retyped everything and the reports are correct now.

There should be no problems retrieving G/L batches from old ACCPAC Plus products in Ledger V9.0A - we have only had an intermittent report from some sites running Adagio 3rd party products.

regarding "Everything was spelled correctly except the case... causing a problem in the financial reporter. Something else was the problem - specification codes are not case sensitive. "gldata.m" and "gldata.M" and "GLDATA.m" and "GLDATA.M" will all return the same result. Perhaps you are referring to the account numbers?

Feel free to e-mail me the "before" and "after" statements and I'll take a look. I'll need a ZIP of the whole GL though, as the statements on their on won't mean much.

I am glad to hear that there should be no problem with old DOS Accpac.

I do not have a copy of the old spec files, sorry it is too close to year end and I don't have time to work on it. As a long time programmer I agree that the case should not matter if programmed correctly. The fact that this text is in quotes could be a problem that I have experienced in the past. I assure you that all I did was bring up the account list and type exactly what was on the screen in the exact case and the report displayed correctly.

I have verifid that the 4 possible case combinations of the specification do not change the result returned, so something else was changed (sometimes software is like that).
