My client installed the IC 8.1A upgrade and then was unable to access IC. The error message that pops up after entering user id and password is "Critical Error: [1212] invalid path to data dictionary"

Adagio is installed on a server on a mapped M: drive and was working before the upgrade. All other modules (GL, AP, etc.) are functioning fine.

Have the client re-install Inventory - they've made a mistake with the drive letters and mapping. This is almost certainly a problem with where the dictionaries are installed. CHKSYS would also identify the problem.

Make sure that the shortcut being used to launch Inventory is actually pointing to the EXE on drive M: - it might be pointing to a local copy.
