Is there are reason that the Accounts Sets in Inventory are limited to 20? Or is it not limited, and I have a problem?

Here are some pics that show that I can not create a new account set. I don't believe that it is a privilages issue.

The reason that the number of control account sets is limited to 20 is to maintain data compatibility with Accpac Plus Inventory, which also has a 20 limit. If we were to add more, then the data compatibility would be broken.

Control Account sets are used for determining costing methods and GL accounts. Do you require more than 20 different combinations of GL accounts for IC Control, AP Clearing, Adjustment write-off or Assembly Cost Credit? This would be the only reason for needing more than 20 control acct sets. Perhaps you should be using Categories (which are unlimited) to differentiate the items? Categories also contain GL accounts for Revenue and Costs.

How about in the new 8.0B Inventory?

8.0B has the same limitation.

I have never run across a client that had more than 20 different inventory balance sheet accounts. This would be the only situation I can imagine where you would hit the limit.

As Tech Support said above, it seems you are using Account Sets for grouping items when you should be using Categories. There is no limit to the number of Categories you can have.
