I have a client that is running Adagio on a Win2003 Server with many workstations all tied to one Xerox copier/printer.

On one and only one workstation anything in the form of a specification print job will not print correctly. Everything else prints fine, from adagio and from general windows apps. What it is doing is scaling the print job larger and shifting to the left, which ends up cutting off portions of the page.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing adagio (this problem occurs in all modules ar/ap/oe) and have gone as far as to adjust the registry OE forms specs to match another workstation. No Change.

When in a spec editor the print preview shows that the program has no regard for margin settings. Changing the specification options, margins has no effect. Changing printers and printing to PDF has no effect.

Any ideas much appreciated!

Hello Derek D. Dougherty,

Has the user set Large Fonts on their workstation? This has been known to affect the printing of specification forms (for reaons I do not understand).

Hi Andrew,

I did check that and no large fonts are not turned on.

In case I didn't mention it, the workstation is XP PRO with service pack 2.

Thanks,

Derek

Hello Derek D. Dougherty,

Is this the only workstation running XP/SP 2?

Have you checked that the most recent printer driver is intalled?

Hello Derek,

Check the Regional Settings. The one station may have a different location.

Check the print driver used on the workstation with the problem, you may find the workstation with the problem is using a different (incorrect) printer driver.

Derek,

Under Priners and Faxes, select Server Properties and check the settings for "Letter."

You could also define a new form size called, say, "Adagio" and set that as the default form for the printer.

Thanks Ralph and Douglas,

I tried all of that! The one thing that I did not try was to create a new form, I did check the settings and they were fine. I have come to the conclusion that maybe the user has installed something that is not compatible with Adagio.

I think re-imaging the workstation is the answer!

Thanks for the replies,

Derek

Derek,

I might be helpful to others in this forum if you can isolate what that incompatible program is and post the information here.

Douglas wins the prize!!

It turned out not to be the driver of the printer being used, but just the mere presence of a Brother HL-1435 caused two workstations to print funny (they were the only two with local printers).

They were not the default printer nor were they being printed to. Uninstalling them did not work either.

Clean windows with Xerox workpro255 printed fine right until the Brother driver was installed and then nothing.

Hope this helps all.

Derek
